ABOUT

In2IT International Dance Festival was founded by Tendai Makurumbandi in October 2016 and has since continued annually. From 01. - 09. October 2022 it will be arranged for the seventh time. Our aim is to build cultural bridges that paves way to a natural practise of difference as a value to art and society.
It´s mission is to promote diversity and tolerance through dance as an art form for change. We want to create meeting places that challenge, surprise and provides good experiences for all.
EXPERIENCE
Tendai M. Makurumbandi (*1985, Harare, Zimbabwe) is a professional dancer and choreographer based in Norway. He holds an MA in Choreography from Oslo National Academy of Arts (2021) and BA in dance and choreography from the National Ballet of Zimbabwe (2005).
From 2006 to 2012, Makurumbandi worked and toured extensively with the late Lena Josefsson Kompani Raande Vo in Sweden and abroad. He later moved to Norway to work with Kristiansund Opera as a dancer and teacher. During his time in Kristiansund via Sunndalsøra, he established Compassion 2Dance Company (2013) and In2IT International Dance Festival (2016), making waves towards dance development in Møre Romsdal County. He has choreographed works like Silent drum, Nyami Nyami and Angels Amongst Us and Dis(placed) Shadows which have been presented on regional, National and International platforms.
