During this year's IN2IT festival, the dance company PENTA Productions had a residency in Kristiansund. During their stay, they held a workshop for local dancers and presented the world premiere of the performance Interrupted Echoes in Normoria. We spoke with them about their experience of the residency, meeting the dance community in the city, and the premiere of the work.

What was it like to have a residency during IN2IT?

We at PENTA Productions were lucky enough to have a residency at this year's IN2IT festival.

We stayed at the old fire station, which is a place full of charm. We had a brilliant stay here. It gave us the feeling of being back at camp school or folk high school, which is a bubble in itself. It was a great location as it was walking distance to all the places we were going to during our time there.

We had the opportunity to hold a workshop for a motivated group of dancers in Kristiansund. It was incredibly inspiring to teach parts of what we have been working on to such hungry students. They met us with an open curiosity, which created an incredibly nice space for development and challenge. We really enjoyed ourselves in their company, and left this experience with full hearts.

How did it feel to perform Interrupted Echoes in Normoria?

Having the world premiere of Interrupted Echoes in Normoria was absolutely amazing.

We got to work with an incredibly talented lighting technician who really saw the vision for the work, for us this was an educational and inspiring experience. It gave life to the work to work with such talented people. Being part of this festival was a big moment for PENTA. We are very grateful for the opportunity, and hope to come back at a later time. We look forward to following the journey further!
