On Saturday, January 31st at 2:00 PM, we invite the public to the program release for IN2IT International Dance Festival 2026 in Lillesal at Normoria. Here, we highlight the festival's highlights, present the performances and provide insight into this year's theme - while also opening the door to the curatorial process behind the festival.

When spring comes to Kristiansund, Normoria and the city are filled with dance, conversations and meetings. From March 1 to 8, IN2IT invites you to eight days where the body is at the center – not only as expression, but as experience, language and action. The festival is more than a series of performances; it is a space for presence, sharing and reflection, where the audience is invited to participate – not just observe.

Since its inception in 2016, IN2IT has developed into a vibrant meeting place for dance and contemporary art. The festival brings together artists, audiences and professional communities through a variety of formats – from performing arts and seminars to conversations and social meeting places. Under the leadership of artistic director Tendai Makurumbandi, the festival has gained a clear artistic profile and a strong foundation in community and dialogue.

This year's theme, Beyond Emergency – Dance as a Practice of Agency , invites us to see dance as more than aesthetics. Movement is understood as a way of orienting ourselves in the world – a place to stop, listen and act. In the face of the pace and complexity of our times, the festival opens up space for resonance, new perspectives and relationships.

The program includes both national and international performances, professional discussions, courses and workshops. Here you will find everything from sensual and playful experiences for the youngest to professional meeting places and performances that challenge and expand what dance can be. The festival ends on March 8 with the main performance Kjelleren by Jo Strømgren Kompani – a strong conclusion to a week where body, history and contemporary times are in dialogue.

During the program release on January 31st, you will get a first introduction to the full scope of this year's festival. We hope you will join us – listen, ask questions and step into what will become IN2IT 2026.
